سومین نسخه آزمایشی اوبونتو ۷/۱۰ منتشر شد.

سومین نسخهٔ آزمایشی اوبونتو ۷/۱۰ با نام Gutsy Gibbon Tribe 3، منتشر شد.

نصب نسخه‌های آزمایشی Gutsy برای کاربرانی که مایلند سیستم‌های پایدار و قابل اطمینان داشته باشند توصیه *نمی‌شود*. این نسخه‌ها مخصوص توسعه دهندگان و علاقه‌مندانی است که مایلند در روند توسعه اوبونتو و گزارش ایرادات مشارکت نمایند.

این امکانات برای اضافه شدن در نسخه جدید در نظر گرفته شده‌اند، در صورت تمایل آنها را آزمایش نموده و ایرادات احتمالی را گزارش دهید.
از مهم‌ترین ویژگیهای نسخه جدید میتوان به بروزآوری میزکار به Gnome 2.19.5 که از امکانات و بهینه‌سازیهای آن میتوان به نسخه جدید GNOME-power-manager و امکانات جدید در نرم‌افزار پخش موسیقی Rhythmbox اشاره نمود.
پشتیبانی بهتر از میزکارهای زیبا و ۳ بعدی از اهداف دیگر نسخه جدید اوبونتو خواهد بود. در این نسخه آزمایشی Compiz Fusion بهینه شده و امکاناتی جدیدی به آن اضافه شده است که اطلاعات بیشتر در مورد آنرا میتوانید اینجا مطالعه نمائید.
در این نسخه آزمایشی امکانات جدیدی نیز برای نسخه سرور در نظر گرفته شده که از مهمترین آنها ابزار مدیریت آسان سرویسهای مختلف به کمک Ebox است. AppArmor نیز به عنوان ابزار برقراری امنیت در سرورهای اوبونتو اضافه شده و توسعه‌دهندگان اوبونتو زمان زیادی صرف بهینه سازی آن نموده‌اند. این راهنما شما را با نصب و استفاده از این ابزار امنیتی آشنا خواهد ساخت.

Hello Ubuntu developers,

Welcome to Gutsy Gibbon Tribe 3, which will in time become Ubuntu 7.10.

Pre-releases of Gutsy are *not* encouraged for anyone needing a stable
system or anyone who is not comfortable running into occasional, or even
frequent breakage.  They are, however, recommended for Ubuntu developers
and those who want to help in testing, reporting, and fixing bugs.

Tribe 3 is the third in a series of milestone CD images that will be
released throughout the Gutsy development cycle. The Tribe images are
known to be reasonably free of show-stopper CD build or installer
bugs, while representing a very recent snapshot of Gutsy. You can

This is quite an early set of images, so you should expect some
bugs. Among these are the following (so you don't need to bother
reporting these if you encounter them):

 * The desktop CD hangs on a lot of systems, especially slower ones
  with little RAM. Sometimes it is just slow, sometimes it will hang
  eternally. If you experience this and waiting a bit longer does
  not help, try to restart the computer and the live CD. If that
  still does not help, please use the alternate CD.

 * On Edubuntu server installs, the "Building LTSP root" step takes a
  very long time (in the order of 15 minutes) without visible
  progress. It will eventually finish, though.

If the graphical system does not come up or is very slow, please
file a bug against compiz:

Please include a copy of the files ~/.xsession-errors and
/var/log/Xorg.0.log, and the output of glxinfo and xdpyinfo.
