Canonical is the official sponsor of the Ubuntu project and owns the trademarks, both in the word and logo form, relating to the project.
To keep the balance between the integrity of our trademarks and the ability to customise Ubuntu, we’ve tried to define a reasonable trademark policy that allows our Community to use Ubuntu and to promote the project. You can read the full policy at
http://www.ubuntu.com/aboutus/trademarkpolicy.
Canonical owns and operates the Canonical shop (
https://shop.canonical.com) which sells a wide range of Ubuntu branded merchandise, including clothing, accessories and CDs. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer reseller or franchise opportunities for shop merchandise.
Ubuntu is free to download and free to distribute. You are not permitted to sell .iso images.
We have no issue with the use of Ubuntu or the Ubuntu logo on items for private and personal use, as long as there is no commercial intent.
Kind regards,
Michelle,
