System Requirements
Below are the minimum and recommended system requirements for Scorched 3D v41.1. These are meant to give you a general idea what kind of system you need to play the game and also some basic troubleshooting tips.
Minimum System Requirements:*
* OS: Any**
* 500 MHz Processor
* 128 Mb RAM (256 MB for Win XP)
* 200 Mb Hard Disk space (including probable virtual memory usage)
* 3D Accelerated Graphics Card
Multiplayer:
* Dial-Up Modem (for online multiplayer)
* Network Adapter (for LAN multiplayer)
*=Minimum system requirements are provided with the "Fastest Options" setting enabled.
Recommended System Requirements:
* OS: Any**
* 1.5 GHz Processor
* 512 Mb RAM
* 300 Mb Hard Disk space (including probable virtual memory usage)
* Non-integrated 128MB 3D Accelerated Graphics Card with GL shader support
Multiplayer:
* Broadband Modem (for online multiplayer)
* Network Adapter (for LAN multiplayer)
**=Any OS is supported but in some cases requires source to be compiled for an up-to-date game copy for their particular OS. Also, while it may be possible that Windows NT could run Scorched 3D, it is not guaranteed. Additionally, Scorched 3D has not been properly tested on Windows Vista and therefore is not officially supported even though it seems to run fine.
Support
If you are using v40 or below then you need at least DirectX 8 to run Scorched 3D if you're running Windows. If you do not have it, you can get it from the following locations, depending on your OS type:
* Win 95 - DirectX 8.0a.
* Win 98/ME/2K/XP - Latest DirectX 9.0c.
Note, that DirectX 5 was the last version released for Windows NT, therefore the game may not run well (or at all) on a computer with Windows NT installed.
If you have an earlier version of windows 95 (non OSR2), you may need the required OpenGL library files in order to play. These can be obtained here.
If you have problems such as graphical corruption or crashes, try updating your graphics card's drivers. Click on the following manufacture of your card to download the latest drivers.
